My wife was drugged in a gay nightclub in New York City on her birthday. I could not find her and searched the streets for hours as she'd just gone outside to have a cigarette. Thankfully, someone found her unconscious in the street. It was terrifying and we have not been out much due to it since. At this time, there had been a spike in druggings around America. Almost always, the drugs were administered by privileged, white men. Sexism and homophobia have definitely increased of the past few years. This song was written about this.
